Hi everyone. For those of you in Zone 7. I wanted to give a quick list of what to start indoors, what seeds can go in the ground today, and plants you can start outdoors now. I will do a second post of plants that can go in the ground after frost risk passes.
Start Indoors Now
- Tomatoes
- Cucumbers
- Peppers
- Eggplant
- Watermelon
- Cantaloupe
From Plant starts Now
You may be able to find starts at a few local garden centers before they too are at risk of closing down. If so, the following are options for planting from plant starts now:
- Swiss Chard
- Lettuce
- Cabbage
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
I would try Brawley Garden Centre or Ace Hardware
The Following Veggies can be started outdoors from Seed now before frost risk is over
- Beets
- Broccoli ( As early as Feb 15 )
- Brussels
- Cabbage
- Collards
- All Lettuces and Greens
- Carrots
- Kale
- Kohlrabi
- Lettuce
- Mustard
- Spinach
- Peas
- Onion Starts
- Turnips
- Potatoes
